We started our house search informally a couple of years ago visiting multiple open houses and narrowing down our target neighborhoods. When we finally realized that we serious about relocating, we thought about various realtors we had seen. Janet Allen stood out for us. She was very informed, represented buyers and sellers in the type of houses we were interested in and knew the local neighborhoods we liked. When I approached her for an introduction, she said all the right things that matched our expectations in a realtor. Since choosing Janet to help in buying our next house and to sell our former house, we have not looked back.
During our house search working with her, she worked hard to understand our needs and desires. We are about 5-10 years out from retirement. We were looking to find a one story house to resize into (not downsize). We wanted room for our hobbies, guests and future visiting grand kids. The neighborhoods we were looking at were hard to get into. She readily appreciated our situation.
She worked tirelessly to network with other realtors and provided various handouts mailed to residents and peers informing them of our interests. It was one of these leads that unfolded ultimately into a dream house purchase thanks to Janet. We were ready and all lined up with a pre-approved mortgage (setup through Janet's mortgage finance contact) and viable price range for an offer. After the house was listed, we made an offer made within 48 hours and it was accepted within 72! Janet's advice in making the offer and feeling out the concerns of the other realtor and the owners was very effective.
Then we turned to selling our former house of 13 years. It was in a nice Bethany neighborhood. As we got ready to paint inside and out with a professional painter, she had various effective suggestions to the painter to help in the house prep for sale. I was very impressed with the photographer she acquired for the online listing. The photos were outstanding and could have even attracted even us to come back to the house! We had 3 attractive offers within 24 hours of listing and we accepted one within the next 12 hours. The sale went very smoothly with few challenges.
Credit for the the efficient sale goes to Janet. She asked all of the right questions of us in getting ready. We responded to a series of her thoughtful suggestions on basic house preparation.
